The Sunnyside Swap Shop Co-op partners with Campfire USA Portland Metro Council in the operation of The Roost, the Swap Shop’s recreational space for older youth upstairs from our original family play space in the Sunnyside Methodist Church building.
Camp Fire has a deep history and commitment to build caring, confident youth, and future leaders. Camp Fire USA Portland Metro Council is a community-based nonprofit organization that has offered hands-on learning, leadership and service experiences to local youth since 1912. Camp Fire engages thousands of K-12 youth in Multnomah and Washington counties each year though our school-based after-school programs, teen leadership programs, residential camp and clubs.
This will be Camp Fire’s second year offering a successful before and after-school program at Sunnyside Environmental School for K-5 and first year partnering with the Sunnyside Swap Shop Co-op to provide afterschool programming for 6th-8th grade at Sunnyside Methodist Church building.
